Touch Africa Adventures introduces a new route for a walking safari experience to explorer the beautiful landscape, authentic villages and the African wilderness.
This trip is recommended for those who love walking and want a different adventure in Tanzania with a walking safari away from the beaten path. Walking through Maasai villages, you will camp in the wilderness, walking up close to wildlife and discover their habitats. This is a three day trip which covers Monduli highland and it’s neighboring areas. From Nanja to Lekosei Mountain where you will be transferred by car back to Arusha to relax or start your next journey.
Our expertise with this trail also will make it, a truly amazing event. Two Maasai guides and one Ranger will be with you all way to ensure your safety and your time with us will remain an unforgettable experience. The weather: depending on the time of year, November to January are typical of hot and rainy weather. February to May warm and experience rain in late afternoon, evening and night, June to October are the coolest times of year but not too cold! Choose the right time to do your walking safari that suits you best.
Day one: Leave from Arusha after breakfast by car to Mti moja “one tree”. Here you will start your walking safari, connecting you to Lepurko mount, this is a 4 hour walk to get to our night camp. You will walk through a Maasai village, by a small Lake Nanja and the bush land where you can see some animals, elands, zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, giraffes, and plenty different species of. Enjoy dinner and a night stay at the Star camp.
Day two: After breakfast, start your walk through the bushland where you will meet the Maasai who are grazing their cattle. It’s a full day walk today. starting with a four hours walk before your lunch. Lunch will be in lunchboxes taken right in the bush! Five hours of walking will follow before arriving to the camp. You will be taken for a leisurely walk into a Maasai Boma (traditional Maasai home) after getting there. Experience a culture different to your own here. Beautiful view points and the deepest rivers are the most amazing experiences today. Enjoy your dinner prepared for you by our cook at the campsite and overnight camping here with yet more fantastic views.
Day three: After breakfast, walk up to Lekosei Mountain, which will take one hour and take an hour to explore the beauty of the mountain. The mountain is easy to hike and can be completed by everyone. Afterwards enjoy a three hour walk to Eluanie Lake where you will have your lunchbox. Here you'll be met your car and start your drive back to Arusha to relax or begin your next journey.
